Herbs, Blends & Mushrooms! (A-L) Wild & untamed natural & organic products ~ a choice you can live with! |

Our
ingredients are WILD and often
UNTAMED, but what could be more
natural than that? Carefully selected, sustainably harvested,we
offer only natural, organic or wildcrafted herbs...that take
nothing from the environment and leave nothing behind. They are
always earth and animal friendly! This
collection represents many of the more common herbs & their recognized properties. Naturally we make no
claims that anything or anyone can heal you. Not any pharmaceutical on earth, nor any herb on earth. Natural remedies
can provide the most beneficial environment and conditions for your body to heal itself. Our experience has
been that frequently natural plants and herbs work quicker, cost
less and are more effective in helping to rebalance your body,
however since natural things can't receive patents by
pharmaceutical companies they lack profit potential.
Pharmaceutical companies look for effective herbs, then isolate
one of the chemical ingredients, synthesize it, patent it and
make 10,000 % 30,000% +/- profit per capsule, at your expense,
un-naturally . The problem with synthesizing a plant and isolating
just one component is that nature designed the plant with
hundreds of components intended to work together, not in
isolation. We're still trying to decide if it's mere arrogance or simple greed
that would motivate a company to isolate just one of those
chemicals, synthesize it, and market it as beneficial and to
make, what we consider to be unconscionable profits. Wouldn't
that be like taking just ONE ingredient and claiming that it was
the only thing needed to make a cake? Is that possible? As
an example, Garlic has 719 natural chemical properties,
powerfully and synergistically working together. It's known as
Russian penicillin and is still used in most parts of the world
as a powerful, highly effective & natural antibiotic.
Pharmaceuticals & other "against life" (antibiotics)
medications quickly suppress symptoms which isn't the same as
curing the disease or even finding the cause. Bacteria replicate about every 20 minutes and easily learn to resist bacteria, that's one of the reasons
that antibiotics are becoming more and more useless. The holistic
viewpoint believes that many symptoms need to run their course to
help the body rid itself of toxins and that suppressing symptoms
will push the dis-ease deeper only to re-emerge as something else
at another time. The
information and websites noted below are offered for educational
purposes and to help enable you to do as much research on herbs and their chemical
properties as you need to make wise health decisions. This is, by far, one of the most impressive sites on
herbs we've ever found. Dr James Duke worked with the USDA and other govenmental agencies
for more than 30 years and his Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical
Databases is an impressive result of that effort. Please visit
it, and learn about the richness of herbs.
Dr Jim Duke is a career US government
Ethnobotanist, a world leading authority on herbal healing
traditions, who must take particular delicious delight in having
been paid to research and publicize the benefits and rich healing
properties of herbal medicine. Enjoy and read his impressive
data, or many of his exciting herbal books. "Toady I'm as busy as I ever was, working to save the
Amazonian rain forest while trying to persuade anyone who will
listen that hebal alternatives often work as well as or better
than pharmaceuticals. Join me in the Amazon, friends, and think
green. If we all give herbal medicines the chance they deserve,
botanical medicine will spread like Kudzu and the world will be
the better for it" CAVEAT: 'No herb nor synthetic
drug, is dangerous, if properly used. All herbs contain
anti-allergens and allergens, anti-carcinogens and carcinogens,
anti-mutagens and mutagens, antioxidants and pro-oxidant,
antitoxins (antidotes) and toxins and thousands of other pro and
con phytochemicals. There are probably safe, medicinal, toxic and lethal doses for all
chemicals, natural and synthetic. Your genes may well have memory
of natural toxins which challenged your ancestors. Your genes,
though quick to learn, have no knowledge or memory of tomorrow's
synthetic drugs and poisons " Dr. Duke's Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical Databases Herbalist's Desk Reference: HDR Botanicals Generally Recognized As Safe: Last And Least: Dangerous Herbs US National Library of Medicine and The National Institute of Health Note:
Life is sweet, meant to be shared and enjoyed to the fullest, all
living creatures will eventually die. The circle of life begins
at birth, ends at death and continues into the spirit world.
Sadly, there isn't any pharmaceutical or herb that can perform
miracles. Even with the very best of care, we will sometimes
loose our beloved companions. The difference between treating
naturally while allowing the animal to enjoy his natural life
span versus treating with artificial chemicals is significant.
Often natural remedies enable the animal to be more comfortable,
live longer and pain free, alert and fully participating with their
environment. While pharmaceuticals will often conflict
significantly, cause adverse reactions and many times will cause
death as a "side effect".....

The word Chaga derives from indigenous languages which are spoken around the entire Arctic Circle. The Nez Perce used it in pemmican and were immune to diseases suffered by Europeans. After close inspection, physicians attributed the herbs that the Indians were ingesting to their heightened immunity. These herbs included Tiaga or Tsi Aga, (Chaga) which builds and strengthens the immune system. Chaga is a Mushroom that commonly grows in northern regions on birch, alder and beech trees. Wild naturally growing Chaga is very rare and very valuable. Chaga is hard to find in the woods and difficult to procure commercially. Chaga is considered a black parasitic shelf fungus found on living trunks of mature birch trees in colder climates and resembles burnt charcoal. Chaga draws it's nutrients out of the living trees rather than from the ground. Fungi digest food outside of their bodies by releasing enzymes into the surrounding environment, breaking down organic matter into a form the fungus can absorbs. It causes the tree's death in 5-7 years, and in fact, Chaga Mushroom is called "birch cancer" in Russia. The shape of the mushroom also resembles that of cancer in the human body. After Chaga is harvested, the birch tree withers and dies. Due to pollination of its seeds, a next generation is ready for harvest 20 years later. Siberian species grow best in extreme winter conditions below minus 40 deg C at least 4-5 months per year. The extreme nature of the Siberian winters appear to be the environmental quality that yields premium Siberian Chaga mushrooms high in anti-oxidant value. Nobel
Laureate Alexander Solzhenitsyn (the Russian author of Gulag
Archipelago ) was impressed with the healing powers of Chaga
to treat cancer. During his 1950's investigative research in
Siberian hospitals he wrote from personal experience in his
Pulitzer Prize winning book The Cancer Ward. " He could not imagine any greater joy than to go away
into the woods for months on end, to break off this chaga,
crumble it, boil it up on a campfire, drink it and get well like
an animal." Told that he had terminal cancer, Solchenitsyn
defeated his cancer by sneaking Chaga into the cancer ward. Chaga
is well known for stimulating the immune system and its powerful
anti-tumor activity, and was approved in 1955 by The Medical
Academy of Science in Moscow for public use against cancer. Chaga
enjoys a long history of anti-cancer use in the Eastern
Hemisphere and throughout the world. Today, Chaga tea is commonly
used in Russia as a kitchen remedy to support a healthy immune
system. Chaga is approved for "food" use by the FDA..
Siberian Chaga, unlike the other medicinal mushrooms has an
exceptional amount of beta glucans, saponins, amino acids and
contains large amounts of Betulinic Acid in a form that can be
ingested orally, and it also contains the full spectrum of immune
- stimulating phytochemicals found in other medicinal mushrooms..
Chaga also has a very high "SOD" (Super Oxide Dismutase)
content. SOD is an extremely potent antioxidant enzyme that
fights cellular damage from reactive singlet oxygen molecules,
also known as free radicals. The
FDA has recommended that people should increase their antioxidant
consumption to 7000 ORAC units a day to help lower their risk of
Cancer. ORAC stands for "Oxygen Radical Absorbent Capacity".
This is a scale that measures the amount of free oxygen radicals
in your body that a food or supplement can absorb. Free oxygen
radicals are unavoidably formed in our body when we suffer an
immune deficiency and from normal daily living, stress,
electricity, pollution, sun exposure, toxic chemicals, smoking,
food toxins etc These free radicals destroy our cellular
structure and make us more vulnerable to disease. According
to the University's research the higher the ORAC value, the
more beneficial it is for the body. Research also
shows that eating foods with high ORAC value help protect against
age related memory loss. Chaga has the highest reported ORAC
score in natural foods.. Chaga also contains Polysaccharides and
Triterpenes, compounds that help support the thymus and spleen.
There are four known ORAC scales (S-ORAC, ORAC, H-ORAC, N-ORAC)
and the results differ because they measure different
volumes/capacities. Top ORAC fruits and vegetables per 100 ~ Tufts University

activated ~ Excellent to have on hand for: Poison, gas & diarrhea! Charcoal works by ADSORPTION. It
collects substances in a condensed form on a surface, as distinct
from ABSORPTION, which is to take in and incorporate or
assimilate a substance. Activated charcoal slides through the
stomach and intestines without itself being absorbed. On its way,
however, it binds with toxins, wastes, and other substances
(including pharmaceutical drugs and nutritional supplements) and
then is excreted along with them by the body. It further prevents
toxins from being absorbed into the bloodstream by coating
intestinal walls. Activated charcoal should be taken within an
hour of poison ingestion for it to be an effective antidote,
according to a recent joint position statement by American and
European societies of clinical toxicologists. In addition to
being an anti-poison first-aid remedy, in recent years
researchers have demonstrated a number of non-emergency uses for
activated charcoal taken internally. Activated charcoal can
eliminate fungi, viruses, and bacteria and may promote recovery
from some types of food poisoning. Activated charcoal can also
adsorb gases, especially in the lower intestine, and thus help to
relieve flatulence and gas pains & diarrhea. It may reduce
uric acid levels and thus aid in the treatment of gout. High
daily dosages (such as 25 to 50 g) of activated charcoal for
months at a time may lower blood cholesterol and blood fat
levels, according to some preliminary research. Studies suggest
it may also help to treat neonatal jaundice and the rare
inherited disorders known as porphyria. Finally, activated
charcoal powder can be mixed with water to make a paste to
relieve the itching of insect bites and stings. A great remedy to

mushroom (Cordyceps sinensis) ~ There are more than 600
types of wild Cordyceps, all unappetizing in nature and all grown
above 14,000 feet elevation. Once reserved for Chinese emperors
or available by arduous Himalayan adventures. Cordyceps has been
used for Immune Support, to increase stamina for sports
performance and as a Sexual tonic to enhance endurance and drive.
Gaining recognition globally, Cordyceps is used to produce anti
cancer polysaccharides and for immune modulation. Wild
Cordyceps's price is astronomical, several thousands dollars per
kilo and still rising. By simulating a high altitude environment
with low oxygen, low temperature a process has been invented that
fools Cordyceps into thinking it's living and thriving under it's
optimal conditions. These optimal conditions amplify beneficial
properties such as anti viral compounds, providing full spectrum
found in wild colonies and work synergistically to maximize
potency.. According to the manufacturer, " Since Cordyceps lives
in insects, it has evolved quite a comprehensive compliment of
compounds, which it produces, with the sole purpose of keeping
the insect healthy. If you have a nice chunk of organic something
that hits the ground, like an apple, everything in the
environment competes to use it as a food source, bacteria,
mold, everything. The fungi, in general, have evolved an
interesting mechanism to give themselves an advantage in the food
chain. As the mycelium slowly grows up across the surface of that
apple, it exudes certain extracellular compounds out of the cell
walls that stun or kill other microorganisms. So, it has a chance
to get the food. Those compounds are what we call antibiotics.
Penicillin, tetracycline, erythromycin, cephalosporin are all
examples of fungi-produced antibiotics. Cordyceps has a number of
different type antibiotics that work on different organisms. Coriander

(Vaccinium macrocarpon) ~ While
popular as a drink, offers excellent properties to benefit the
urinary system. Used to treat urinary tract infections and as a
long term preventive for kidney stones. Got E Coli? Get
Cranberries! "Incidences of E. coli contamination and
food-borne illness seem to be occurring more frequently
throughout the United States," said Dr. Vivian Chi Hua Wu,
Assistant Professor, Department of Food Science & Human
Nutrition at the University of Maine. "Cranberry's
antimicrobial effect offers considerable promise as a natural and
effective tool to prevent such outbreaks. Some E. coli bacteria
are now becoming increasingly resistant to the commonly
prescribed antibiotics used to treat them. Cranberries may reduce
the need for antibiotics by preventing the initial infection.
Fewer infections may mean fewer antibiotics.” Another
study shows cranberries may offer a unique line of defense with
their ability to reduce the growth of certain E. coli and other
types of bacteria found in food and in the body. Researchers at
the University of Maine added cranberry concentrate to samples of
food tainted with several types of bacteria that frequently cause
food related illness. After several days, scientists discovered
that the cranberry concentrate significantly reduced the growth
of certain E. coli and other bacteria in the food samples. While
we do have our own supply of dried cranberries, why not buy
locally? Damiana
