Who Is Happy Tails Rescue Association?
Happy Tails Rescue Association is not affiliated with any local or national rescue organization, receives no tax dollars or other funding, and relies entirely on private donations to fund all of its adoption and community services programs; our work is made possible only by the generosity of people like yourself.

Your  Donation to Happy Tails Rescue  is tax deductible and stays in the rescue community to help animals in need.

Our mission to rescue, shelter and nourish abandoned or surrendered Rottweilers, fight animal cruelty, neglect and consult, for free, with owners to avoid abandonment, and to help build a caring, compassionate community.

It is the belief of those who founded Happy Tails that much of the solution to the problem of the abuse, disregard, cruelty and abandonment of companion animals in our society lies in individual attitudes, their mindsets as well as a lack of appropriate education regarding the reverence for life that encompasses all living creatures.

Towards this end Happy Tails provides lifetime counseling to the individuals of the animals it rehomes.  Happy Tails is also an educational resource for the general public, providing educational information regarding temperament, training, bite prevention, free food resources, apartment friendly rentals, spay and neuter resources, behavioral and other related issues.  These efforts further the goal of preventing abuse and any abandonment of companion and farm animals.;We don't turn away animal owners with legitimate emergencies or training concerns.

Happy Tails operates a Rescue Sanctuary in Goldendale, Washington where homeless Rottweilers and farm animals are homed and rehabilitated for as long as it takes to locate their permanent home, often for the entire natural life of the animal.  Happy Tails provides consultation services to owners who are considering surrendering their family member for a varieties of reasons.  Among those "reasons" we hear most are a new human baby will be arriving, so no time for the dog who thought he was their baby, new carpet, lack of training or destructive behavior due to boredom and perceived aggression towards other animals or nipping at humans.

Our goal being that by providing information resources or training options to the people, offering motivation, food donations or other educational services, that the individual will no longer consider it acceptable to abandon or surrender their companion animal and they will be willing to work through any issue.

Our urgent need, as noted above is for another generator to fall from the sky, or to attract sufficient contributions to rebuild our current 10kw Issuzu diesel generator.  We have a smaller Honda gas generator, but it's unable to carry the winter load. We neither breed, board nor sell Rottweilers and are NOT classified as a kennel, but rather as a private charitable rescue sanctuary. Your donations to us are considered gifts and are not for value received. All of the Rotties are homed with us, rehabilitated, fed, loved and nourished back to good physical, mental & spriritual health so that they're ready for their exceptional new homes.

Adoptions are by appointment only and after you've been approved for adoption. For protection of the Rottweilers, our sanity and in order to minimize stressful or territorial reactions, all adoption appointments & surrenders are done at our office, or other neutral territory. Your other indoor dogs are also invited to attend & participate in the selection of your new family member!  Unannounced visitors are not appreciated and will not be accommodated.
